Obwohl es für mich immer ein Wunder und eine Ehre ist, ist es auch manchmal gar nicht so leicht, hauptberuflich dafür zu arbeiten, dass Menschen die gute Nachricht von Jesus Christus hören. Es heißt immer wieder, die Arbeit aus der Hand Gottes zu empfangen, zu erbeten und auch wieder zurück zu legen in Seine Hände. Alles eigene Mühen bringt nichts, wenn nicht der Segen des Herrn darauf liegt und Er an den Herzen wirkt. Es geht darum, dass Sein Reich gebaut wird und nicht meines! Und nur Er sieht, wo es gebaut werden kann, wo der nächste Backstein benötigt wird, wo der Zement rein muss und wo man schon das Dach drauf setzen kann.
Wenn der Herr das Haus nicht baut, arbeiten seine Erbauer vergebens daran. Wenn der Herr die Stadt nicht bewacht, wacht der Wächter vergebens. Psalm 127,1
Und dann arbeite ich da ja nicht allein dran – was auch nicht gut wäre – Gott unterstützt nicht ein Einzelkämpfertum, sondern von Anfang an redete Er von Gemeinschaft, Jesus schickt sie zu zweit raus und sagt „Wo 2 oder 3 in meinem Namen…“Mt 18,20. Das heißt aber auch Arbeit, „Befleißigt euch um Einheit im Geist..“ Epheser 4,3. Gemeinsam auf Gott hören, was Er möchte. Gemeinsam vorwärts zu gehen – das heißt Arbeit.
Und schließlich bleiben Zweifel, Versuchung, Anfechtung nicht aus.
Doch es ist beeindruckend, wie Gott da hindurch führt und trägt und immer wieder den Mut und die Kraft schenkt!
Gestern Abend zum Beispiel: Eine Mitarbeiterin der KEB D – eigentlich Praktikantin (sie ist einziger angestellter Vollzeitmitarbeiter KEB Hamburg) – ruft mich per skype an. Es war ein sehr fröhliches, ermutigendes Gespräch. Am Schluss stellte sich heraus, sie dachte, ich habe sie angerufen; dabei kam der Anruf von ihr….
Wir hatten uns nur kurz auf der Europa Konferenz der KEB kennen gelernt und email-Adressen ausgetauscht. Miriam hat in manchen Dingen ganz ähnliche Voraussetzungen und Aufgaben wie ich.
Gestern hatte ich auch einen sehr schönen Nachmittag mit Freundinnen! So richtig zum Genießen!
Wie Gott doch für das Richtige zur richtigen Zeit sorgt! I just love Him!
Although it is a miracle and an honour to me, it is sometimes not so easy to work full time to tell others about the good news of Jesus Christ. It means to ask for and to receive the work out of God’s hands, and also to lay it back into His hands time and again. All striving on my own has no sense if not God’s blessing is upon it and if not He is working on hearts. It is all about establishing His kingom and not mine! And only He knows where it can be build, where the next stone is needed, where the cement has to go and where it is already possible to put on the roof.
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. Psalm 127:1
And I work not on it on my own – that wouldn’t be good – God is not supporting a one-man-fight; from the beginning His thought was community, Jesus sent the disciples in two and he said „For where two or three are gathered in my name…“ Mt 18:20. But that also means work. „Eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.“ Eph 4:3 To listen to God together, to know what God wants. To go forward together- That means work.
And finally doubts, temptations and trials won’t be missing.
But it is impressing how God leads and carries through and gives the courage and strength again and again!
For example yesterday night: A worker of CEF Germany – also in her practical time – but actually the only employed full time worker in Hamburg – phoned me via skype. It was a quite joyfull and encouraging talk. At the end i realized that she thought I phoned her, but actually she did phone me…
We got to knwo each other just for short at the european conference of CEF and changed e-mail adresses. Miriam’s conditions and tasks are similar to mine.
Yesterday I also had a nice afternoon with friends. Just to enjoy!
How God is caring for the right at the right time! I just love Him!
